“Allah’s Messenger (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of ‘Id-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates.”
Anas (radiallahu ‘anhu) also narrated,
The Prophet (sallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) used to eat odd number of dates.
