Quran Project ads removed by Network Rail

I posted an article yesterday showing pictures of Quran Project’s billboard ads all around popular train stations. They are doing a brilliant work by giving out free translation of the Quran to those who are interested in learning about Islam.

Another update 19 Dec 12: As you may know, By the grace of the Almighty, due to immense pressure via social media and other platforms Network Rail have RETRACTED the decision to take down The Qu’ran Project Billboards in their stations. Unfortunately this is not the case for Chiltern Railway. They are still proceeding with removing our billboards and have already moved it from Marylebone Station and plan to have them all removed by end of this week.

The adverts has since been removed by Network Rail and JCDecaux without any explanation. The official Quran Project twitter account has tweeted this yesterday (Mon 17th Dec 2012)

Due to unknown reasons Network Rail have decided to remove all the Quran Project billboards from all the Train Stations.

It really makes one wonder about the intentions of Network Rail and the advertising firm (JCDecaux) who previously allowed running of Atheist, as well as Christianity related campaign. The Quran Project just gives out Quran after all, anyone is welcomed to pick one up and read it.

So why the double standard against Muslims and not everyone else?
